Doors Open Jamestown Recap

by | Feb 3, 2020 | Uncategorized

Jamestown Renaissance Corporation (JRC) is proud to report on another successful Doors Open Jamestown, with 17 participating attractions, and total attendance over 1,000. JRC and Jamestown Up Close would like to thank the attractions for their participation and support, as well as everyone that came out to see the attractions, and support downtown businesses on a snowy winter day.

Raffle Winners at GypsyMoon Cake Co.: (from L) Wayne Smith, Lori Smith, Sara Cruea, Frances Swartz, Zach Agett (JRC), and Geneva Coan (GypsyMoon)

“Doors Open is a great opportunity for everyone to visit our attractions for free, but the event means more than that to us. We love seeing see so many happy people and families spending an entire day visiting attractions, eating, and shopping throughout Jamestown,” said Zach Agett, Marketing and Events Manager at Jamestown Renaissance Corporation.

Each of the 17 Attractions in the Greater Jamestown Area provided free admission and distributed enough giveaways to create a free raffle at each location. Each Attraction drew their own winner and presented them with their prize.

The event also featured a raffle consisting of 3 prize packages, which could be entered by making a $10 purchase or completing a scavenger hunt. Each prize package contained a one night stay at and donated by the Hilton by DoubleTree Jamestown, $20 gift certificate to and donated by Pearl City Hops, $30 Shoptauqua Gift Card donated by Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce and Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce, and $30 to a downtown restaurant/retailer of choice from JRC and Jamestown Up Close.

The three winners were Sara Cruea, who made her purchase at GypsyMoon Cake Co.; Frances Swartz, who made her purchase at the Marvin Community House; and Lori (and Wayne) Smith, who completed the scavenger hunt! Gift cards selected by the winners included the National Comedy Center, Dots Gift Boutique, and The Chop House on Main.

Jamestown Renaissance Corporation makes Jamestown better through inspiration, action, and celebration. Keep an eye out for Doors Open next year, and continue to support our local Attractions, retailers, and restaurants. For more information on Jamestown Renaissance Corporation special events email zach@jamestownrenaissance.org.
